How many calories are there in Glucosamine and Chondroitin tablets?

As glucosamine is based on sugar, surely it is quite a lot? One of my best friends has started taking them and she is putting on weight.
Answer:
LOOK ON THE BOX! READ THE LABEL
Has she been prescribed this or is she using it as an aid to loose weight...coz thats not really the point of them. Is she on anything else, such as inhalers...the steroids in those will cause weight gain.
im not sure, if i had to guess i would think it is quite low. glucosamine is supposed to be effective, and if the sugars were digested, the product wouldnt be effective because the sugars would be burned rather than reaching their sites of action. consuming sugars doesnt neccesarily mean it will make you gain weight if the sugars arent readily digestable. vegetables are actually made of mostly sugar too (cellulose). but your body doesnt readily digest the sugar, so youre not going to get fat from eating lettuce all day. cows on the other hand can digest cellulose, which is why they can get fat from eating leaves and grass and stuff.
even if they were pure sugar, then she would surely be eating so few as not to gain weight ( if you think a tic tac has only 2 calories!)- my husband sometimes takes them and he is diabetic- they have no effect whatsoever on his blood sugarif she has joint pain then she is presumably less active , which could be the reason for her weight gain, added to the medication she may be on which someone has already mentioned
