I am giving up the pot but cravings have got me bad. is there anything to stop the cravings.?

it is day 2. I have been a heavy user of dope for 20 years and I have to stop... help
Answer:
Marijuana is DEFINITELY addictive. The definition of addiction is if the body requires a certain foreign substance to function properly. In this case your brain needs it to determine your emotional responses(relaxation, anxiety, etc) to situations, this is as real as heroin addiction. That people dismiss that it's even a problem makes it worse. You wouldn't be asking if it wasn't. I don't think there is an easy answer. I would suggest taking 1 mg xanax as needed and play a lot of video games and wait for it to get better in a week or so. Use melatonin or whatever you like to help you sleep. Try to stock up on foods you like to stimulate your appetite.Good luck.
You are not craving pot...your body and brain are responding to the habit of smoking.pot is not addictive! To get away from that, just distract yourself by doing something else...keep your mind busy.
Sometimes eating oats can help reduce cravings. Try taking rescue remedy (Bach flower remedy) to help reduce the anxiety. have a glass of fruit juice whenever you get the cravings, and drink lots of water (including warm water, can add some lemon juice) to flush your system.
Pot is not physically addicting, your mind is messing with you. Find something to occupy your mind, do something outdoors and active.
Smoke weed that will stop the cravings :) jk.
your just used to smoking. pots not addictive just start doing something else like chewing gum.
Read the magnetic diet, it has a section on how to control cravings. You can read the book online free of charge at http://www.magnetic-diet.com/book...
