For instance it is rumoured oranges are useful?
Answer:
Wheat Germ or Flax Seeds. Both can be added to just about anything and they have no negative taste. I put both in smoothies and Wheat Germ on my yogurt when I have a late night snack craving. They are also insanely good for you. Try these. You can buy them in just about any store, and flax seed, you'll want the whole seeds, not the oil. Plus they are pretty cheap. Both under 5 dollars.
Figs, but be warned - don't eat too many!
Liquorice and chewing gum are laxatives! Not sure about chewing gum but liquorice is natural, you used to be able to buy it in chemist shops.
Bran
prunes
The old classics are prunes choclate and oranges and figs
if you eat move fruits and or vegetables along with any kind of beans and also whole grain breads or cereals like oatmeal etc.
I've never heard of oranges having a laxative effect. Dried fruit does, though. But you can easily overdo it, and get wickedly painful cramps if you eat too many raisins or prunes at once.
well, for me, it's any kind of steak. thats why i dont eat it very often.
chicken curry and fried rice with two bottles of cheap red wine
Prunes...easily the best!

Any high fiber foods will help. So will adding hot spices to whatever you are eating.
Flax seed oil can't be beat.
Prunes, figs, chocolate, oranges, and anything high in fiber, especially bran.

Prunes are the best natural laxative...

One of the best natural laxative is banana, which is very high in fiber and potassium. Bran and prunes are also very helpful and has been used for ages.Aged garlic (Kyolic) is also a good laxative and have many other healing properties.
coffee, papayas, prunes, sweet potatoes, cherries
As well as the suggestions already offered, here are a few more hints to help deal with constipation:A large glass of warm water with the juice of up to half a lemon first thing in the morning, followed by carrot, parsley and celery juice. Reduce dairy products, wheat-based products (including bran - use rice bran or oat bran, not wheat bran)Increase water consumption (can add lemon juice to make it more palatable), and exercise (even deep, abdominal breathing can help)Eat lots of fruit and vegetables and minimise processed foods.Abdominal massage - making sure you go up the right hand side, from right to left just under the ribs and down the left hand side.Minimise tea drinking. (Tea is astringent and reduces intestinal juices)Eat bitter foods before meals eg grapefruit, rocket, endive (all our aperatifs are bitter) - bitter tasting foods stimulate the production of the hormone gastrin, which turns on the digestive system, secreting more bile which acts as a natural laxative.Take a large teaspoon of psyllium husks in a glass of warmish water, with another glass of water, before bed.Hope this helps.
WATER!
Prunes.
Any fresh fruits/veggies act as fiber.
Avoid bananas.
coconut juice from a young coconut
When I eat cooked millet everyday I have found that it keeps me very regular. I've found when I eat red meat I am constipated.
Grape Nuts, beans (all kinds eaten regularly), corn, peas, nuts, oatmeal, salad, apples (with the peel). All will work to keep you regular. Pears, cherries and tomatoes with the skins on can help, too.You can also buy Shaklee's Herb Lax which is all natural and will keep your colon very healthy and keep toxins from building up on the colon wall which contributes to colon cancer.Everyone is different so what might work well on one person may not work as well on another but the apple with the peel should do a good job as it acts like a roto-rooter in your colon and will prevent diverticulitis. My niece can drink tons of orange juice and have no problems with her bowls but if I drink too much, I end up with diarrhea. You also want to be careful about getting too much of these in your system or you could end up with colitis and end up having to go to the doctor to get it under control. Be sure and eat bananas to keep potassium in your system anytime you hae diarrhea, just don't eat them too often (although they don't work on me like they do some)Many good suggestions on here ~ see what works best for you.
a couple of teaspoons of coconut oil will do the trick every time in a natural non violent way. Make sure though that its not hydrogenated, but the good stuff from Hippocrates Health Centre Australia 07 55302860. don't know about oranges but trust me this oil works and has other wonderful beneifits. Look into it, you won't be sorry.
