There are many approaches you could try. It's hard to be precise when you don't give any details about the sort of insomnia you are suffering from. If you can get hold of some herbal sleeping tablets, these are sometimes very useful. They won't knock you out the way conventional sleeping pills do. Ideally, you want something containing at least two of the following three: avena sativa, passiflora and scutellaria. If the suggested dose doesn't help, go up a little bit. If that still doesn't do it, try taking two doses, one a couple of hours before the second. Some people have trouble sleeping because of a high core temperature. If that is the case (hard to know except by trying out the cure), then take 20 minutes vigorous exercise about 6 hours before going to bed. This will raise your core temperature, and there will then be a reaction to a cool temperature at the right moment for you to sleep. As has been mentioned, it would help to know what kind of insomnia you are experiencing and if you know some probable causes.Passion Flower is best for "brain chatter" where you just can't get your head to stop problem solving. chamomeil tea! lavender essentail oil, maybe on pillow or massage, no eating or caffine 2-3 hrs befor bed time, no exeriszing 3 hrs befor, dark qiuet room, just like a kid.
