How long for prunes to relieve conpation. I have a hard rock in me. Help!!?

I think I have an impaction in my bowel. I have taken magnesium citrate, metimucil, stool softners. With some relief, but I still have the impaction and it hurts. I just age 5 prunes. How long before it works?
Answer:
I don't think prunes will work in such severe conditions and if even if they do they will take quite sometime to take affect if any. The Homeopathic remedies NUX VOMICA and BRYONIA ALBA both in 200 potency taken together should ease your constipation within three doses, take one dose and wait for about an hour to 1.30 hours, if there is no totally no relief take another dose and then again wait and then the third dose. If you are relieved after the first dose do not take them again within 24 hours. These two are used together only as an emergency medicine if there is bowel impaction not to be taken together in regular circumstances. Post your symptoms exactly the way you feel them, remember Homeopathy treats the patient not the disease and it can cure your constipation 100% without any side effects or complications when prescribed exactly according to the patient's(your) symptoms.Take Care and God Bless.P.S
Just trying to save you from the utter disgrace of going through with something as useless as a fleet enema or having the impaction removed manually as suggested above. I don't know why people opt for such barbaric practices in such modern times, perhaps its just lack of sense or lack of education or what? Beats me !
Really Saddening. And my humble apologies to anyone and everyone I offended with my remarks.
Take Care Buddy, get well real soon. cheers.
Go to the doctor
You may have to have the impaction manually removed! Its not fun. I would suggest, after you resolve this, you take lots of vitamin C everyday.I am not UNEDUCATED%26gt; Any way I presume thats what my doctorate means. And if you need immediate relief then manual removal is the quickest.
if you can make it to the pharmacy get a couple of FLEET enemas and it will make you go .use exactly as directed.good luck.
How long ago did you take the magnesium citrate? Be careful that you don't do too much at once. Let your doctor know what is going on. (If you are on narcotic pain medications they could be what is clogging you up.) This is completely non-scientific; but, you never know. I know that eating Mexican food (especially enchiladas or anything really greasy) gives me diarrhea within 30 minutes of eating it. If you can think of anything that produces that kind of a reaction in you normally, you may want to try it.At any rate, your doctor should be consulted in this matter.Good luck.
If the prunes are going to do the trick, you should hear from them by tomorrow morning. Be sure to drink a lot of water this evening. That is probably why the other laxatives didn't work--they need a lot of water to work properly. If the prunes don't work, go to the drug store and buy some glycerin suppositories and a Fleet enema. Insert one of the suppositories and hold it for as long as you can. Then go to the bathroom. The melted glycerin will oil the impaction and make it easier to pass. Then, warm the Fleet enema in the microwave or in warm water--check to make sure it's not hot (like you do a baby's bottle). Use the enema and again, hold it as long as possible. This should do the trick.
If you're impacted, then you may have to try the enema/suppository route. A little epsom salts in warm water tastes like h*ll but will have you going in less than an hour.
change your diet, eat more fibers.
try to take 3tablespoons of olive oil, it will do the work.
using laxatives regularly can actually increase the risk that you'll get constipated.A better alternative way to gently encourage things to move along is to put a castor oil pack on your abdomen.so first soak a small towel in castor oil and lay it over your midsection, cover it with plastic wrap and then heating pad set on low.Leave the pack on for 20 min.
Try the olive oil first.
