How long do stomach ulcers last? And are there home remedies to treat them?

Answer:
Stomach ulcers, or gastric ulcers, cannot be cured, only treated. Helicobacter Pylori is most common cause of ulcers; other causes include chronic ASA or other NSAIDS, steroids, alcohol abuse, ingestion of erosive substances, or tobacco use. The pain associated with gastric ulcers is generally increased with eating. The best recommendation is to limit intake of acidic foods, alcohol, certain spices (chili, cayenne, and black pepper), and caffeine, and also avoid large meals, especially before lying down. If your ulcer pain cannot be alleviated by an inexpensive over-the-counter medication, such as Maalox, you may need to see your physician and get a prescription for protonics, but I've found that in comparison to protonics, prilosec works just as well (and it's not $15 per pill :-)
I know that they can last more than a week. Drink some milk, that makes the acid go away.
some last long time.. some go away on their own but mainly you must take medications to treat them... I have used prilosec for many years.. I have gerd and once had ulcer it healed my ulcer up. but that doesnt mean it wont come back someday. more than likely you need medications to treat the ulcer since they get bigger and can hurt alot can cause many problems also good luck !!
Personally, I still have my ulcers. The main thing to do is to change your diet to things with less acidity but your ulcer may be sensitive to other things.
how do you know that you have stomach ucler? did you go to medical school? there are all kinds of stomach ulcers, and they are caused by different things, such as bacteria, etcyou need prescription drug - antibiotics for that
Look on your search engine put in Master Cleanse, try this I am told that it will help. It's also know as the lemon diet, You may want to purchase Stanley Burroughs book also, it cost no more tha $7.00.
Take care......
Stomach ulcers are caused by a bacteria, see your doctor.
Cabbage juice is used to relieve some of the discomfort.
